   Jinnam Gyoban, meaning “Bridge over the Valley of Truth,” is one of Mungyeong’s most picturesque spots, where a stone bridge spans the clear upper Namhan River beneath dramatic cliffs. It’s especially popular for autumn foliage and riverside walks, and nearby cafés and traditional restaurants make it a pleasant half-day visit.

It offers traditional Korean dishes including grilled meats (석쇠구이), 산채비빔밥, 전골, 정식 한상 차림, 냉면 등. It opens early at 8:00, making it a good breakfast or early meal spot for tourists visiting the trail.

    Mungyeong Coal Museum

    A museum dedicated to Korea’s coal mining history, located on the site of a former coal mine. Exhibits include mining equipment, life-size tunnel replicas, and multimedia displays showing the lives of coal miners and the industrial development of Korea. Visitors can walk through a reconstructed mine shaft and learn about the transformation of the area into the Eco Rala cultural complex.

    Mungyeongsaejae Provincial Park

    문경새재도립공원

    Mungyeongsaejae is one of Korea’s most famous historical mountain passes, once serving as the main route between Seoul and Yeongnam during the Joseon Dynasty. The provincial park is home to well-preserved stone gates, traditional inn replicas, and scenic forest trails. The area also hosts the Mungyeongsaejae Drama Set, used for filming historical dramas. The 6.5 km trail through the pass offers gentle hiking, especially beautiful in autumn when the maple leaves turn red. Another option is to start at the north end of the trail. This entails, by car, parking a fair bit below the road's end and walking (all uphill) from there. Or, take a local bus from Suanbo or Yeonpung and walk the 3–4 km, all uphill, to the Saejae pass. Sites include a movie set a ways up the trail, a traditional Korean village - the southern part has grass roofs, the northern part is where the yangban live (or would live if anyone lived there), a museum near the park entrance, and three stone gates. There's a nice mineral spring, Jagok Yaksu, partway up the trail.
