Mungyeong Coal Museum

문경석탄박물관

A museum dedicated to Korea’s coal mining history, located on the site of a former coal mine. Exhibits include mining equipment, life-size tunnel replicas, and multimedia displays showing the lives of coal miners and the industrial development of Korea. Visitors can walk through a reconstructed mine shaft and learn about the transformation of the area into the Eco Rala cultural complex.

Getting there

From Mungyeong Station, take bus No. 71 toward Gahak or Maseong and get off at the Coal Museum stop, or take a taxi (approx. 15 minutes / 10 km). The museum is located inside the Mungyeong Eco Rala complex.
