Formerly the Belconnen Fresh Food Markets, this historic site has been completely transformed into a state-of-the-art, European-inspired indoor market pavilion. The precinct houses over 40 artisanal traders, including organic fruit and vegetable providores, premium butchers, local fishmongers, and specialty delis. A dedicated casual dining corridor features all-day eateries, cafes, and bakeries. Includes 2 hours of free undercover customer parking.

Capital Region Farmers Market

An exceptional fresh food market with products being sold direct from the producer. Stalls sell fruit, vegetables, meat, seafood, honey, preserves, cakes, wine and plenty more. Be sure to come early for the freshest produce and grab a coffee or something to eat from one of the pop up stalls. It is a fair distance from Civic, but the trip is well worth it if you can make it.

Dear Prudence

Inside the historic colonnades of the Sydney Building, this intimate wine and aperitif bar brings a slice of European flair to the city centre. Outfitted with beautifully distressed walls, moody candlelit tables, and large arched windows, it mimics a romantic, low-key New York wine lounge. Part of the broader Verity Lane Market food hall precinct, the bar features a highly curated, weekly rotating selection of undiscovered global and local lo-fi wines. It is an excellent, sophisticated sanctuary for dates or quiet conversations over cheese and charcuterie.

Gorman House Market

Every Saturday in Braddon, just north of the city (easy walk). Crafts, second-hand items, antiques, international food in a lovely, grassy setting.

Haig Park Village Markets

A small but vibrant community market with lots of diverse goods available.

Hartley Hall Markets

The historic village hosts a monthly market that raises money for local charity Hartley Lifecare. There are hundreds of stalls selling gifts, art, craft, baked goods, plants, furniture, clothing, pottery, and children’s toys.

Marketplace Gungahlin

Though the shopping precincts's name says "Marketplace", it's not a market, nor does it even resemble like a market. Instead, this two-storey shopping centre with 84 stores has become the district's local mall, though not overly large. There's also a food court inside, which is actually quite large for a mall of its size.

Old Bus Depot Market

As the name would suggest, the markets are in a rundown bus depot that is no longer in use. Most of the stalls sell a wide variety quality arts and crafts, with a few food and produce stalls in the mix. There is often live music being played and occasionally they run theme days to keep the markets interesting.

While most markets are in the north or Canberra Central, this one is more conveniently in somewhere-not-the central or north. In this market, the sellers are the producers and all stalls are all food related.

Jamison Market

A legendary Sunday morning institution operated by the Rotary Club of Belconnen. The main commuter carpark transforms into a sprawling open-air flea market filled with fresh agricultural produce stalls, second-hand clothing racks, antique books, vintage vinyl records, plants, and quirky bric-a-brac. A fantastic place to hunt for bargains and grab cheap local street food bites.

First Sunday of every month in the lovely Tuggeranong Homestead opposite the Calwell Shops. Lots of stalls, selling amazing stuff.
