The market emerged in the XII–XIII. century, the Danubian harbor and anchorage with Esztergom highway connecting streets. The line of houses on the south side led to the Clarissans convent. Lajos utca 158 was one of the buildings of the former marketplace, at the beginning of the 18th century it was a beer house. In the 1790s, it was converted into an apartment house. In 19th century, it was extended with additional extensions. At this time, the restoration of the building preserved the most important medieval details. The house is now a contemporary art gallery.

Castle Garden Bazaar

The building complex was built according to the plans of Miklós Ybl between 1875 and 1883 in the Neo-Renaissance style, as the closing of the Castle Garden from the Danube. It was built for a commercial function, with its arcades full of shops. In 1884, Alajos Strobl was the first sculptor to have his own studio in the arcade of the bazaar. He was followed by about eighty of his fellow artists over the next hundred year.

Grand Market Area

Opened in 1932, it was the main fruit and vegetable distribution centre of Budapest. The large hall is 247 m long and 42 m wide. At the time of opening it was the country's largest indoor facility. Around 1900, Ferencvaros was the main food storage for Budapest. The district's external borders also meant the border of Budapest. Here was the end of the railway lines and here established river access, which resulted the carriers easily could sell to retailers in the country produced, or imported, foods. Since 2004 it has been a listed building.

A grand old three-level market hall, with a modern supermarket in the basement, small stalls selling mostly gourmet food items on the ground floor (more paprika and goose liver than you can shake a stick at) and handicrafts on the second floor. It is very touristy these days but still worth a visit. Bargaining and comparison-shopping are recommended. The Langos stand is a tourist scam, serving up a deep-fried snack called "lángos". Base prices are listed prominently, but the server will pile on additional condiments and it is not made clear that these cost extortionately extra. Before you know it, you will end up with a US$30 or $40 pancake, charged in Hungarian forint.

Lehel Hall

- A covered multilevel marketplace. Because its form, colloquially known as 'Kofahajó' (Ship for retailers without shop), Built in 2000-2002, in postmodern style. Before 1890 here was a cemetery. Later was a lumberyard, thereafter since the early 1900s an open air market. There are now four above-ground and one underground level. The building frame and the glass roof reminds market hall from around 1900. This looks like a ship because on eastern side (Park side) lined circular floor windows (cruiser cabin window) and the oblique flag rod (foremast) at the main entrance of the hall. A myriad of colors surrounded the visitors - mainly red, yellow and blue (which are the colors of the flag of the capital), and a lot of the green painting (all street furniture and pavilion).

Lehel Market Hall

Mostly fresh food products. Founded 1945, demolished 2000, rebuilt 2002, for ~$15 million. Four level building (2 of them parking). There are 349 tenant retail space, more than 80 small-scale producers, Post Office. The market itself is designed primarily housed on the ground floor and the first floor gallery. The underpass level used mainly for the landing of goods dealers, and also here operates the "small market". At the small market, as well as in the other end of the hall, a supermarket works, also find here pastries and sweets shop, antique store and pub. This section opens directly to the m3 subway, and this part open longer than the 'upper' section. - The whole building is painted by a myriad of colors, especially red, yellow and blue, the colors of the capital.

National Museum

Not to be confused with the Hungarian National Gallery (Nemzeti Galéria), located in Buda Castle. Founded in 1802 by Count Ferenc Széchenyi, whose manuscript, map, numismatic and print collections formed its initial core holdings, the Hungarian National Museum was designed and built by the popular architect Mihály Polláck between 1837-1847. When it opened, it was the fourth largest museum in Europe and the first public museum in the Hungarian capital. The building became the symbol of the 1848-1849 Revolution so every year on the National Day (March 15) usually commemoration held here. However, it was far enough from the city proper that sometimes loose cattle from the weekly Kálvin tér market wandered into the museum. Before entering, take note of the museum's exterior, a fine example of neoclassical architecture, with an exceptional portico. Eight Corinthian columns support a frieze with an ornamental cornice and a large pediment. The pediment features the allegorical figure of Pannonia (Pannonia was the Roman name for the Hungarian lands) sitting with the Hungarian coat of arms on her shield, surrounded on either side by Science and Art. The exterior of the museum is also significant for what has taken place there. According to a popular urban legend during the 1848 revolutions that swept through Central Europe, on 15 March, Sándor Petőfi (perhaps Hungary's most famous patriotic poet) recited his emotionally gripping poem called "National Song" to a large crowd from the left pillar of the National Museum's exterior staircase. This poem pleaded with the nation to liberate Hungary from the Habsburg oppression. Not everyone was impressed. The director of the museum recorded in his diary that a noisy mob had gathered outside the building that day, disturbing his work so much that he left for home. Major acquisitions and collections donated by the Kubinyi, Pyrker, Marczibányi and Jankovich families rapidly expanded the museum's holdings. Late in the 19th century some

Former named like „Rakpiac"(Loading Market), Lánchíd Square, Ferenc József Square. - Here is the first and one of the nicest Hungarian bridge the Chain Bridge. On the northern side of the square is the building of the Headquarters of the Academy of Sciences. East side is Gresham Palace, and building of the former Pest Hungarian Commercial Bank. In 1880 erected a sculpture of Count István Széchenyi, in 1887 (Count István Széchenyi de Sárvár-Felsővidék (Hungarian: [ˈiʃtvaːn ˈseːtʃeːɲi]; 1791–1860) was a Hungarian politician, theorist and writer, one of the greatest statesmen of Hungarian history) here is also another sculpture made to Ferenc Deák, who was a Hungarian statesman and Minister of Justice; he was known as "The Wise Man of the Nation". Statue of Miklós Ybl

Made by Ede Mayer in 1896. Miklós Ybl was one of Europe's leading architects in the mid to late nineteenth century as well as Hungary's most influential architect during his career. His most well-known works are the Hungarian State Opera House, the Main Custom House, the Castle Garden Bazaar and the Saint Stephen's Basilica in Budapest.

This is one of the main pedestrian thoroughfares and perhaps the most famous street of central Budapest. It was the first shopping street in Budapest. Back in 1690 it was called Lipot Street and it stratched into the Vaci Gate, the North exit of the city. It features restaurants and shops catering primarily to the tourist market. No. 4 Ferenc Bene House: built in 1840 was designed by József Hild is a three-storey neoclassical house with seven windows. No. 9 Seven elector-house, former Nako House, built (this edition) in 1840, former a hotel was here (German) 'Zu den sieben Kurfürsten-Gastgeber' (lit. Seven Elector-hotel). Three-storey house with 15 windows and each floor with Doric colonnade. No.10 Three-storey, classicist house with ten windows. The arched doorways with 'Czech cap'. There is a semicircular staircase with wood balustrade.
