Located to the north of Mount Ainslie, access to the peak is by walking tracks only despite there being a service road, it is not available for use by the public. One of the popular walking trails starts near Antill St, Watson.

Mount Majura Vineyard
This is perhaps one of the few places where you could go wine-tasting and still be inside a capital city. Surprisingly, what you'd get is not expensive, but rather sits firmly on the mid-range side. Positioned on the unique limestone-rich, volcanic red-earth slopes of Mount Majura, the boutique cellar door specializes in handcrafted, single-site drops. They are nationally celebrated for pioneering Iberian red varieties in the region, particularly their highly acclaimed Tempranillo and TSG (Tempranillo, Shiraz, Graciano) blends. Tastings are completely seated, deeply educational, and can be accompanied by local artisan cheese and charcuterie platters.

Capital Region Farmers Market
An exceptional fresh food market with products being sold direct from the producer. Stalls sell fruit, vegetables, meat, seafood, honey, preserves, cakes, wine and plenty more. Be sure to come early for the freshest produce and grab a coffee or something to eat from one of the pop up stalls. It is a fair distance from Civic, but the trip is well worth it if you can make it.

Gang Gang Cafe and Bar
This friendly, community-run suburban bar and cafe is a hidden gem of the outer suburbs. Spilling out onto a wide, paved plaza, it functions as a relaxed local coffee house during the day before transforming into a vibrant music hub by night. Known for its warm, inclusive atmosphere, the venue hosts regular local bands, open-mic nights, and trivia, while the bar serves up local cold beers, Australian wines, and simple, delicious comfort meals.
