Yerevan: Water Park and Peak Views

Start at the water park when it opens, grab a quick bite nearby, and finish with a view of the city from the hilltop.

Best time: noneAbout 240 min

Timeline

  1. 12:00

    Yerevan Water World

Arrive at Yerevan Water World as it opens. The outdoor pools are ready for a swim in the summer, or you can use the indoor 'Aquatek' year-round. It is a popular local spot, so going early helps you avoid the biggest crowds.

  2. 13:30

    Tavern Yerevan

Walk 12 minutes to Tavern Yerevan. It is the place for traditional Armenian cuisine. You might rub shoulders with government officials or tourists, but the food is authentic. Go here for lunch while the water park is open.

  3. 14:00

    Mother Armenia

Walk 50 minutes from the anchor (or roughly 30-40 minutes from the restaurant area) to the Mother Armenia statue. This monumental public art, erected in 1967, offers a commanding perspective of the city. The walk is long, so pace yourself.

Local tip

The walk to the Mother Armenia statue is significant (50 minutes from the water park). Plan your time accordingly. If you prefer a shorter walk, consider stopping at the Botanical garden (11 minutes from anchor) on your way back down, but the view from the statue is the primary daytime highlight.

Check before you go

  • Yerevan Water World opens at 12:00.
  • Tavern Yerevan is open 09:30-24:00.
  • Check transport routes if you do not wish to walk 50 minutes to the statue.
