Timeline
12:00
Arrive right when the History Museum of Armenia opens at 11:00. The early periods are amply annotated, so you can move along the timeline at a relaxed pace before the crowds arrive.
13:30
Walk four minutes to Dolmama for lunch. The outdoor seating out back is a way to experience the old courtyards that filled central Yerevan in the past. Fusion Armenian-World cuisine serves excellent food.
16:18
Walk 33 minutes north-northeast to the Mother Armenia statue. Arrive just in time to see the sun set toward the WSW from this vantage point, casting golden light over the city.
17:00
End your evening at Tavern Yerevan, a 12-minute walk from the statue. You will rub shoulders with an occasional government function or wedding shower, but the traditional Armenian cuisine is the real draw.
Local tip
The History Museum's English tags thin out considerably by mid-19th century, so focus on the early periods where the annotations are ample. Tavern Yerevan can be busy, so be prepared for a lively atmosphere.
