Timeline
13:00
Start at the Aram Manukyan statue. This is a central landmark that serves as your anchor for the day.
13:09
Walk nine minutes to Tavern Yerevan. It opens at 09:30, so it is fully open by now. Order traditional Armenian cuisine. The food is the real thing, though you may rub shoulders with government functionaries or tourists.
14:00
Walk eighteen minutes north to the Mother Armenia statue. Erected in 1967, this monumental figure replaced the statue of Joseph Stalin. Stand at the base and look out over the city.
14:40
Head to Lumen Coffee, a thirteen-minute walk from the statue. Open from 08:30 to 24:00, it is a reliable spot to sit, have a coffee, and digest your meal while watching the afternoon light.
Local tip
Tavern Yerevan can get busy with wedding showers and busfuls of tourists. If you prefer a more refined white-tablecloth experience with the same traditional menu, Lavash is a fourteen-minute walk away and advises reserving ahead on weekend nights.
