Walk up to the Mother Armenia statue. It is a 53-minute walk from the Botanical garden, but you are starting from the nearby café district, so the climb is manageable. Stand at the base and look west.

Watch the golden light hit the statue and the city below. The sun sets toward the WSW, aligning perfectly with the view from this vantage point. Stay until the light fades.

Head down to Tavern Yerevan for dinner. It is just a 12-minute walk from the statue. The kitchen is open until midnight, so you have plenty of time to enjoy traditional Armenian cuisine as the city lights come on.
Local tip
The walk from the café to the statue is steep. Take your time. The view from Mother Armenia is the main event, so don’t rush the climb.
