Browse the Vernissage open air market. It is a walk through the park between Aram and Buzand Streets where you can find rugs, souvenirs, instruments, paintings, pets, and chemistry supplies. Check that it is Saturday or Sunday.
16:42
Have lunch at Tavern Yerevan. This is the place for traditional Armenian cuisine. You will rub shoulders with government functions, wedding showers, or busfuls of tourists. Do not be scared by the names of the dishes. The food is the real thing.
17:30
Walk to Mother Armenia. Erected in 1967, this monumental statue replaced the statue of Joseph Stalin. Position yourself at the base to watch the sun set toward the WSW.
Local tip
The Vernissage is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. If you are visiting on another day, skip the market and head straight to the statue.
