   An orange boat. All sorts of events and parties go on here, and in summer you can take a dip in the outdoor pool-barge during the day. There is a lower level that is the main club at big parties and a more comfortable lounge upstairs.

   The place on the Yppenmarkt has specific vegetarian foods and attracts a mixed public. The café has existed since 1895.

   Esperanto Museum

   Founded in 1927, this museum houses a library and museum with displays illustrating the development and grammar of the modern invented language Esperanto.

   Fatty George Jazz Museum

   Honouring the jazz musician Fatty George (1927-1985), a small museum about his life and jazz in general was opened in his native village Essling, now part of Vienna. It was installed inside a historic toilet building in a park. The park was renamed Jazzpark and a sculpture depicting jazz (the musical style) was erected in 2005 by Leopold Grausam. On the opposite side of the street one can find another park memorializing another jazz musician, Bill Grah (1928-1996).

   You have not been to Vienna if you have not been to the Flex, particularly if you are younger than thirty. The meeting point of the off-mainstream, bohemian, artsy people. During the summer nights when it is warm, there are always a lot of people sitting on benches outside the club. It's easy to socialise and make new friends. Inside the club you can enjoy bands and DJs. At the bar you can ask for free soda water.

   Fluc und Fluc Wanne

   An upstairs bar and its downstairs club-like half Fluc Wanne (meaning tub). Most of the club is underground in a former underpass, so do not miss it. More alternative with very diverse DJs and bands.

   Freud Museum

   This small museum is in Freud's historic flat where he practiced psychoanalysis for almost his whole life. However, the collection is limited mostly to documents of various kinds relating to Freud's life. Almost all of the flat's contents, including the famous original couch, went along with Freud to London when he fled the Nazis in 1939 and are now in the Freud Museum there.

   Globe Museum

   The only museum of its type in the world, this museum contains a collection of 650 globes of all types, as well as a collection of nearly 300,000 historic maps.

    The cocktail bar fills quickly, hence it is considered wise to reserve places. The cocktails are done with lots of knowledge and excellent alcohols. Consider asking for their specials as they give good advice. The barkeeper participates to international contests. The card designed by the owner and barkeeper Erich Wassicek varies along season. They serve many classics.

    Kletterzentrum Flakturm

    On one side of the 2nd Worldwar bunker there are routes to climb high up until its roof with great views into the roofs of Vienna. The routes are usually hard and require some endurance. The alpine club organises courses for beginners and intermediate. On the other side there are boulder problems set. The outdoor climbing in middle of a historic city makes this a favorite choice for many climbers during the hot season.

    Has a strict policy of not allowing big bags inside the museum. Even your cameras (unless they can be tucked inside a small carry bag) will have to be deposited outside. Has a self-service locker.

    It is a bar, a restaurant, a gallery and a concert location. The bar serves good wines and cocktails. It is a location for smokers.

    Natural History Museum

    This museum was erected as a mirror to its twin museum, the Museum of Fine Arts. It exhibits various minerals, meteorites, fossils, stuffed animals, and skeleton reconstructions of dinosaurs and other. It also includes an anthropological section, where you can see the beautiful Venus of Willendorf which is 25,000 years old. Most signs and explanations in the museum are only in German, and you will likely receive little sympathy for this from museum staff. Expect museum guards to rush you out at least 15 minutes before closing time.

    The Jazzclub features international Jazz artists. One can reserve seats in advance, which is recommended for special events. The bar offers good wine and some food too.

    Prater Dome

    Austria's largest club. Come dressed like euro-trash to get in. Thursday is ladies' night with free entry and drinks. Popular with the young conservative working class.

    Pratersauna

    Vienna's edgiest hot-spot club deep inside the Prater amusement park, it can be hard to find. Ask directions or take a cab. The club is a former sauna normally with a pool and sauna area depending on the current configuration. There are several dance floors, an outdoor area and a dark room.

    This magnificent historic library was designed by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach and built in 1726. As well as the spectacular room itself, you can see temporary exhibitions on various historical subjects.
