Timeline

  1. 10:00

    Hermannskogel

Arrive at the base of Hermannskogel. The Habsburgerwarte tower opens at 10:00 on Sundays in the summer season. This is the best time to start your climb before the midday heat or crowds build up.

  2. 10:45

    Hermannskogel

Climb the 27-meter tower. You will need to pay the €1 entry fee. From the top, you get a panoramic view of Vienna and the surrounding countryside. Remember that the tower is only open on weekends in the summer (April to October).

  3. 11:45

    Hermannskogel

Descend and take a break. Since there are no food or drink shops listed in the immediate vicinity for this specific route, bring your own water and snacks. Use this time to rest your legs and enjoy the fresh air at the highest point in the city.

Local tip

The access route involves taking bus 38A to Cobenzel and then a 1-hour walk. Check the bus schedule in advance as the walk is substantial. The tower is closed outside of April-October weekends.
