Grab an ice cream at Eissalon am Schwedenplatz. It is the most popular spot, so expect to stand in a queue for a few minutes. This gives you a sweet treat and time to kill before the main event.
15:42
Walk to Johann Strauß Wohnung. The museum opens at 14:00, so you have plenty of time to explore the elegant apartment where the Waltz King lived and composed his most famous piece. Bring your patience for the queue if you arrived earlier, but by this time you should be inside or just finishing your visit.
16:27
Stand in the apartment as the sun sets toward the WSW. The golden light fills the room, echoing the romantic atmosphere of the Blue Danube. This is the moment to appreciate the history and the light.
16:57
Walk to Harvest for a drink or meal. This vegan and vegetarian café is open until 22:00 on weekdays, making it a perfect, relaxed end to the evening. Enjoy regional beers or wines in a calm setting.
Local tip
The museum is closed on Mondays. If you visit on a Sunday, entry is free the first Sunday of the month, but it may be busier. Check the route if you are coming from elsewhere in the city.
