Markets and independent shops in Santiago

1. BuySanhattan and East

   Alto Las Condes

   Located at the junction of Presidente Kennedy and Padre Hurtado, it's accessible by bus. It's one of the largest malls in Santiago with 5000 parking spaces, 200 stores, medical center, supermarket and movie theater.

   Stores: daily 10:00-22:00, restaurants until 23:30 (weekday nights) or 00:30 (weekend nights)

2. BuySanhattan and East

   Apumanque

   At the junction of Avenida Apoquindo and Manquehue Sur, it features chain stores, restaurants and services for kids.

3. BuyBellavista and North

   Arauco Premium Outlet Buenaventura

   It's a little far from Santiago, but there are plenty of stores there. You can find Lacoste, Zara and other trademark stores. You can go there by car, by bus and metro or by taxi. If you are taking the metro, go to the Vespucio norte station at orange line. Then, exit the station and cross the road to catch the bus. The bus number is B05. Make sure that your Bip! card has enough funds for you to come back to the station, because using the card is the only way that you can catch a bus in Santiago and you can't recharge the card in the outlet. It's very hard to catch a taxi when you are returning because this outlet is far away from the city and no taxi driver wants to pick you up there. It's better to just take the bus to the Vespucio Norte Metro station and travel by metro to your hotel.

4. BuyCentral

   Central Market

   As with La Vega, fruit and vegetables are sold, but the attraction here is the fish and seafood brought in fresh daily from the Pacific to be sold under an elaborate wrought-iron roof.

5. BuyProvidencia

   Mall Costanera Center

   The first six floors of the Gran Torre Santiago hold the newest mall in Santiago. A gigantic food court, cinema, supermarket and stores like Banana Republic, H&M, Zara, NTS. Also restaurants and cafes like Crepes&Waffles, Hard Rock Cafe and Applebees.

6. BuyProvidencia

   Mall Vivo Panorámico

   Close to Los Leones station, this mall has a bit of everything from ice cream to shoes.

7. BuySanhattan and East

   Parque Arauco

   A large mall both by area and sales, accessible by bus. It has large department stores, a medical center, a food court and plenty of restaurants.

   Stores: 10:00-21:00, restaurants until 00:00 or 02:00 depending on day

8. BuyCentral

   Paseo Ahumada

   Paseo Ahumada comprises four blocks between Alameda and Plaza de Armas and is the commercial hub of the city. It features commercial buildings with restaurants, cafés and small and large places to shop.
