Take Route 440 east out of Québec City and follow the exit to the falls parking lot. If you are using public transport, take bus 800 direction 'Beauport' up to stop 'Royale/Chalifour'. This journey takes about an hour from the old city, so leave early to ensure you arrive with time to spare.

Walk to the main viewing area. At 83 m, the falls stand 30 m taller than Niagara Falls. Position yourself to watch the sun begin its descent toward the WSW. The golden light starts to flood the valley around this time, casting a warm glow on the water and the surrounding cliffs.
15:33
Stay for the peak moment. The light is at its most dramatic just before sunset. Take in the scale of the waterfall and the changing colors of the sky. This is the perfect time to take photographs before the light fades.
16:18
After the light fades, head back to your car or the bus stop. Since there are no food or drink options listed at the falls, you will need to check the route back to Québec City for dinner and a drink. The falls are a nice spot to visit if you are driving outside the city, making it easy to continue your evening elsewhere.
