Montmorency Falls

At 83 m, it stands 30 m taller than Niagara Falls. Fireworks competition in the summer. Nice spot to visit if you are driving outside the city.

Getting there: take Route 440 east out of Québec City; watch for the exit to the falls and the parking lot. By public transport, take bus 800 direction 'Beauport' up to stop 'Royale/Chalifour' (~1 hr from old city)

The site of 83-m-high Montmorency waterfall. There are paths downstream of the waterfall with views of the waterfall and a suspension bridge offering a view over the waterfall. Located at Quebec's eastern city limits, about 11 km from the old city.

Vieux-Port
The oldest port in Canada, and second most important in the province and on the Saint Lawrence river is an attraction in its own right. It's easily accessible on foot from the old town, and has a market hall where you can buy local food products.
