Named for the bus of the same name that stops nearby. Pretty good coffee, friendly baristas - one of the hipper spots to hang out, usually full of grad students. Free Wi-Fi. There are only 2 outlets for laptops, and they are in high demand.

Carson City Saloon

Voted as one of the best sports bars in the city. If you are interested in cheering for a Pittsburgh team, this is the bar to go. If it is the playoffs, show up ahead of time or there may be a line at the door.

Casey's Draft House

Casey's has a little-person bartender on Monday's where he walks onto the bar and dumps shots into your mouth.

Delanie's serves a variety of coffees, teas, and other hot beverages alongside bagels, other lighter fare, and some alcoholic beverages. Drinks can be enjoyed at seating outside, in the loft, and in the main seating area which is open-air when the weather allows.

A giant beer selection, truly focusing on local and regional beers, many of them on tap. Giant sandwiches and home cut fries and chips. They have an even larger section in their carry-out store on the 2nd floor.

Gene's Place

Really cheap drinks ($3 mixed, $2-3 22oz beers, $5.50 pitchers). Some microbrews. No food. College neighborhood bar. If you are looking to drink cheap, here is the place.

Gong Cha is South Side's first dedicated boba tea shop. The expansive menu includes rotating seasonal offerings and extensive customization options.

Hemingways

$1 Miller Lites, microbrew selection, combined with the food, great place to drink. A lot of girls. Usually so packed during the school year it's hard to order a drink...or even move. As with many places in the U.S. don't be fooled by the $1 draft drink specials as you're getting a small plastic cup of beer, not a pint. Pay attention to happy hour specials. Half of food (on a special menu) 11AM-11:45AM, appetizers 2-4PM, half of food (on a special menu) 9PM-midnight.

Hofbräuhaus

Modeled after the original Hofbräuhaus in Munich, with German style brats and booze. The accordion player (and sometimes other entertainers) keeps the mood festive and energetic, especially once visitors have had a few rounds of beer.

Jack's Bar

Open every hour that they are legally allowed to serve alcohol, closing only from 2AM-7AM each morning. A dive bar in the truest sense, and typically the final stop for many on a Carson Street pub crawl. The drinks are extremely cheap. If you are looking for a beer and a shot, this is the bar to go.

La Prima Espresso

Serves some of the best espresso in Pittsburgh. The place is often filled with Italians.

Penn Brewery

Pennsylvania Brewing Company

Craft brewery serving various ales and lagers brewed at this location. Offering traditional food favorites from Germany and Eastern Europe and hosts an annual Oktoberfest.

Redbeard's On Sixth

A clean but unpretentious sports bar; its location just across the Clemente bridge from PNC Park makes it a popular choice for post-baseball game eating and drinking.

St Clair Social Pittsburgh Restaurant and Bar

For a place that calls itself a "Beer Emporium", it certainly does not disappoint, with more than 20 Belgians on tap among its offerings. A cozy neighborhood establishment, with a pinball machine to boot.

The Smiling Moose

This bar is typically filled with rock & roll types. On Thursday through Saturday nights the second floor of the bar acts as a venue for local artists. Many of the shows are all ages.
