Paris: Golden Hour at the Pompidou

Start with the light, stay for the buzz.

Best time: sunsetAbout 150 min

Timeline

  1. 15:21

    Le Loir dans la Théière

Grab a sweet start. Le Loir dans la Théière is a quaint tea shop just three minutes from the museum. Their brunch is a great value, and the cakes are huge. If you arrive a bit early, the pastries are fresh and the atmosphere is calm.

  2. 17:01

    Centre Georges Pompidou

Walk 13 minutes WNW to the Centre Georges Pompidou. The museum is closed for renovation until 2030, so do not go inside. Instead, stand outside and watch the golden light fade as the sun sets toward the WSW. It is a striking view of the modern architecture against the evening sky.

  3. 17:36

    Le Colimaçon

Head back toward the anchor area. Le Colimaçon is a cozy, charming space with attentive service and French cuisine. It is open for dinner from 6:30 PM. This is a perfect spot for a relaxed meal as the city lights come on.

  4. 18:21

    La Perle

End the night with a drink. La Perle is a small corner café-bar in Le Marais, just five minutes from the museum. It is well-known to the trendy crowd and fills up in the evening, especially on weekends. It is open until 2:00 AM on weekdays and weekends.

Local tip
