Start with a coffee at Le Cristal. It is just a 6-minute walk from the Observatoire and open until midnight, so you can grab a warm drink and settle in while the afternoon light is still bright.
16:51
Walk to the Observatoire. The building is oriented to the four cardinal directions and crossed by the Paris meridian. While the observatory itself is not open to the public, you can stand at the entrance and feel the history of the site as the sun begins its descent toward the WSW.
17:21
Head to L'Observatoire café, only a 6-minute walk away, to watch the sunset. Positioned NNW of the main landmark, it offers a clear view of the sky as the golden light fades. It is the perfect spot to sip your drink and observe the final moments of daylight.
18:06
End your evening with dinner at La Coupole. This famous Art Deco brasserie is a 15-minute walk from the Observatoire area. It is open until 01:00, making it an ideal place to enjoy a quick meal and reflect on the day as the city lights up.
Local tip
The Observatoire building itself is closed to visitors, so the experience relies on the surrounding spots and the meridian line at the entrance. Le Cristal and L'Observatoire are both very close to the anchor, keeping your walk short and easy.
