Arrive at the D.T. Suzuki Museum as it opens. The museum is tucked away at the back of the Honda Forest, so take your time finding the entrance and settle into the first room to view the writings and calligraphy of the philosopher.

Walk north-northeast for about eight minutes to Kenroku-en Park. This strolling garden from the Edo period is a masterpiece of landscape design. Wander the paths early in the day to enjoy the atmosphere before the crowds arrive.
