Timeline

  1. 09:00

    Kenroku-en Garden

Arrive at Kenroku-en Garden as it opens. This historic strolling garden, once the pleasure grounds of the Maeda Lords, is best experienced in the quiet morning light. Wander the paths to see the famous pine trees and ponds before the day visitors arrive.

  2. 09:45

    内橋亭

Walk three minutes to Uchibashitei for a matcha latte and a traditional sweet. This café is open from 09:00, making it the perfect spot to rest and reflect on the garden's 'Six Attributes' while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

  3. 10:15

    Kourin sushi

Head eleven minutes away to Kourin sushi for a light lunch. If you arrive by 11:30, you can catch the lunch service. Their seasonal sushi offers a fresh, local taste to complete your daytime exploration.

Local tip

Kenroku-en is open from 09:00 in the morning. Arriving right at opening helps you avoid the larger tour groups that typically arrive later in the day. Remember that Uchibashitei closes at 17:00, so plan your tea break earlier in the afternoon if you are visiting later in the day.
