Dai Nam Tourist Park

This is one of the largest tourist attractions in Vietnam. It features the Dai Nam Van Hien Temple, an entertainment site, open range zoo, shopping areas, hotels, local and Western cuisine, and the largest man-made mountain range in Vietnam. Costing over 50 billion dong to build, this park is the beginning of mass tourism in Vietnam, although it is aimed at tourists and locals, and comes highly recommended. Transport options to the park are quite convoluted. As the park is new, online information is scarce. According to the locals, it is very much worth a visit, purely just to view the temple.

Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens

The Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens, or locally and coloquially known as The Zoo ("Sở Thú"), is Vietnam's oldest zoo and botanical garden. The Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens was commissioned by Admiral Pierre-Paul de La Grandière in 1864, and was opened to the public in 1869, making it one of the world's oldest continuously operating zoos. The Botanical Gardens were founded in 1864 by Jean Baptiste Louis Pierre, which he directed until 1877.

Twenty-Three September Park

Running along Phan Ngu Lao St are a number of parks which fill up with locals before sunset, after work. They play a variety of games which you can participate in: badminton, kicking a shuttlecock and women's group aerobics to music are all very popular, and are great to watch. If you sit down by yourself in the open area near the Ben Thanh market a number of young university age locals will come and ask to practice English with you, this is a great way to spend an evening and the best way to meet intelligent interesting youth, they will question you either individually or in groups and share with you a lot about their country. Beware of those men who want to introduce you to their "sister" who's working as a nurse and wants to move to your country. They will try to make you come into their home so you can reassure their parents, but will actually gamble and cheat at cards with you and/or ask you for money after telling a sad and fake story about some dying relative.

Tao Dan Park

Tao Đàn Park or fully known as Tao Đàn Cultural Park (Vietnamese: Công viên Tao Đàn, Công viên Văn Hóa Tao Đàn), also known as Tao Đàn Garden (Vườn Tao Đàn) is an urban park in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam behind the Independence Palace with an address 55C Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai, Bến Thành. It is one of the largest parks in the city, covering 10 hectares. Part of the park will be used for the entrance of the underground Ho Chi Minh City Metro's Tao Đàn station for Lines 2 and 3.

Chi Lăng Park (Vietnamese: Công viên Chi Lăng) is a park located in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, within the jurisdiction of District 1. It was named after the Battle of Chi Lăng in Lạng Sơn province. The park is rectangular, with a declared area of 3,479 square metres (0.860 acres) as of 2007, stretching along Đồng Khởi Street, extending from the intersection with Lý Tự Trọng Street to the intersection with Lê Thánh Tôn Street.

April 30 Park

April 30 Park is a park located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, within District 1 facing Independence Palace and behind Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon. The park consists of four rectangular parcels of land divided by Lê Duẩn Boulevard and Pasteur Street, with a total ground area of 3.5 hectares (8.6 acres), including 2.5 hectares (6.2 acres) of greenery. Surrounding the park are the streets of Han Thuyen, Alexandre de Rhodes, Pham Ngoc Thach, and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia.

September 23 Park

September 23rd Park (Vietnamese: Công viên 23 tháng 9), also known as 23/9 Park, is a 9 hectares (22 acres) park in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City. The park is located adjacent to Bến Thành Market the edge of the backpacker area of Phạm Ngũ Lão – Bùi Viện, it mainly bordered by two streets of Phạm Ngũ Lão and Lê Lai on the south and north of the park, respectively, stretch from Quách Thị Trang Square to Thái Bình Market. It is a popular location for English learning among Vietnamese locals.

Bach Dang Wharf Park

Bạch Đằng Quay (Vietnamese: Bến Bạch Đằng) is a wharf and park with an address No.2 Tôn Đức Thắng Boulevard, Bến Nghé (now is Saigon ward), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It stretches along about 1.3 kilometres (0.81 mi) of the Saigon River from the Thủ Ngữ flagpole (Three-way junction of Bến Nghé Channel and Saigon River) to the site of the former Ba Son Shipyard (now the Saigon – Ba Son complex) and covers an area of 23,400 square metres (252,000 sq ft).
