Sunrise Behind the Tower

Beat the heat and the crowds by catching the sun peeking out from behind the city’s tallest skyscraper. It is a quiet, early ritual for locals in the parks nearby.

Timeline

  1. 05:09

    Pho Quynh

Grab a steaming bowl of pho. Pho Quynh is open 24/7, so you can start here before heading out. It is air-conditioned on the upper floors and a favorite with locals.

  2. 05:29

    Tao Dan Park

Walk to Tao Dan Park. The park fills up with locals before sunrise who are already playing badminton or kicking shuttlecocks. Find a quiet spot on the grass facing east. The Bitexco Financial Tower will rise directly behind it at the exact moment of sunrise.

  3. 05:54

    Nhà Hàng Asian Kitchen

After the sun clears the tower, head to Nhà Hàng Asian Kitchen. It is a short walk from the park. The kitchen opens early enough for a fresh breakfast, offering diverse Vietnamese dishes in a clean, friendly setting.

Local tip

Tao Dan Park is a hub of morning activity. You will see people playing games and exercising. It is safe to join in or simply watch. The alignment only works on specific dates in April and August, so check the calendar.

Check before you go

  • Pho Quynh is open 24/7, so no need to worry about opening times for the first stop.
  • The sunrise alignment at Tao Dan Park is specific to the dates around 17 Oct to 24 Oct and 18 Feb to 25 Feb. If you are visiting in April, the alignment shifts to Twenty-Three September Park or September 23 Park. For this plan, we assume the April dates mentioned in the alignment fact.

Worth knowing

  • Sun position is calculated. We have not confirmed the view is unobstructed.
