Hight River Bank at Érd

A steep promontory rises above the Danube, where the edge of the Mezőföld Plain ends like a tableland. Thanked to a variety of micro-topography and microclimate, evolved a very rich flora. There is a nice view of the river.

Hungarian Geographical Museum

Magyar Földrajzi Múzeum

Housed in Wimpffen Mansion built around 1840 in Classicist style. The Hungarian travellers and explorers exhibit shows the life and work of the nation's most famous travellers. Whereas the Scientific explorers of the Carpathian Basin exhibit gives a taste of the academic achievements of the professionals engaged in the exploration of the Carpathian Basin, an area that includes Hungary.

Minaret

This is the third largest minaret in the country, after Pécs and Eger, and stands at 23 m. Located in the old town (Ófalu). It is all that remains from the town's once important place in the Ottoman Empire from the 16th century. Due to the worn stairs and the lack of lighting, the minaret can be visited only at your own liability!

Saint Michael Roman Catholic Church

Szent Mihály római katolikus templom

The present Baroque-style church was built between 1702–1723 using medieval Gothic church walls. The tower was built later. The religious life has been organized in 1694 by Bosnian Franciscans.

Votive Chapel

Fogadalmi kápolna

Built in baroque style, in 1734, during the great plague. Main facade deorated with arched niche and a damaged statues of the Holy Trinity. The square-shaped chapel is closed with arch apse. Wooden bell tower is decorated with graceful helmet.

Érd Local History Museum

Érdi Helytörténeti Kiállítás

Housed in a late 19th century house with a veranda. The exhibition plots the history of Érd from pre-historic times to the 1930s in a complex manner using archaeological, ethnographic, local history and sports history-related objects and artefacts.
