Timeline
16:57
Stop at Pema Thang's Guest House for a late afternoon snack. Order the thenthuk or fried banana with nuts to keep your hands warm and energy up while you wait for the light to change. The kitchen is open until 22:00, so you have plenty of time.
17:27
Walk from the guest house to the Tibetan Library. Spend these minutes browsing the small museum or just stepping outside to orient yourself. The library is located near the Tibetan government in exile and serves as a calm base before heading up the hill.
17:42
Head to Naddi View Point. This is the key spot for the sunset. As the sun sets toward the WSW around 17:42, you will have a complete scenic view of the snow-covered Dhauladhar range. If the light is still bright, use the manned telescopes to spot the Triund campsite and Guna Devi Mandir before the golden hour hits.
18:02
After the light fades, walk back down to the Tibetan Library area. It is a peaceful place to end the evening, far from the crowds that might gather at the viewpoint, and offers a quiet moment to reflect on the day.
Local tip
Naddi View Point is a 60-minute walk from the Tibetan Library. If you prefer not to hike up and down in the dark, consider taking a taxi to the viewpoint and back, or start your snack earlier to allow more time for the walk.
