The low ceilings with rustic beams and dark wood make it a cosy spot to imbibe a glass of your favorite poison. In wintertime, go during off hours, slide into a window seat and just watch the quiet snow fall.

The only coffee shop in Eastie that isn't at the airport, or a Dunks or Honey Dew. It's not bad, and there's definitely better options across the harbor, but you aren't across the harbor now are you?

Grab a cup from this consistently top rated company. One of only two locations. Barrington sells beans that have been roasted in their factory located in the Berkshires.

Beacon Hill Pub

Delightfully out of place. Beacon Hill is upper class Boston, but Beacon Hill Pub is a cheap, working class dive that has become popular with students. There is even a foosball table inside, perish the thought!

Bell in Hand

Established in 1795, the bar (falsely) claims to be the oldest continuously operating tavern in the country. It also functions as far more of a club than a tavern. Downstairs is generally packed on weekends, upstairs is a multi-room club.

Bleacher Bar

A unique bar in that it is built under the Fenway Park bleachers in right field, with a large glass window overlooking the game. Even the urinals in the men's room offer a view of the field! You don't need a ticket to get in, but the place does fill up quickly.

Boston Beer Works

This is the original location, opened in 1992. It opened as one of the first microbreweries in the area, and serves 15 microbrews on tap at any given time. May open early during game day and other special events.

Boston Harbor Distillery Tour & Tasting

Tours and tastings every Saturday at the Boston Harbor Distillery. An old manufacturing warehouse has been tastefully updated into a wonderful rustic waterfront drinking environment. See and learn how these spirits are made. Spirits include Putnam New England Rye Whiskey, Lawley's New England Spirit, Seymour's Local Roast Coffee Liqueur, Seymour's Boston Cream Liqueur, and the Spirit of Boston Samuel Adams collaborations. Tours run every half hour and include drink tastings at the bar. Distillery also has an exhibit on display of an old Boston map collection in the back gallery. Merchandise, cigars, and spirits can be purchased in the store. Parking is plentiful.

Boston Winery Tour & Tasting

Boston's only custom-crush-winery, come here for a wine tasting, to organize a wine social, to take wine classes, or to go through the process of making your own wine with a paid membership. Purchase Boston Winery wine right from their store in an 1800s brick and stone building on the waterfront. See wine being made with your own eyes. Before you head over, check out the website to get info on upcoming events at the winery. Tours will run every hour and aren't scheduled at specific times. Parking is plentiful.

Top notch beer list and excellent mixed drinks at this long running boozy spot. Wear your tightest jeans and vintage threads to this narrow, deep, and almost windowless space. Can't decide? Ask to "spin the wheel" and drink whatever it lands on. Be ready with cash, however, there are no do-overs even if it stops on a pricy option. ATM on premises.

Caffe Bene

This chain was launched in South Korea in 2008, modeled after the finest European cafes. There's a bunch of these in New York, but this is the only one in New England for now. Offers the requisite coffee alongside light sandwiches and fancy Belgian waffles.

Caffé Vittoria

In 2006 The Phantom Gourmet gave Caffé Vittoria a ‘Great Ate’ award. This place has many awards including ‘City’s Best Coffee House’ from City Guide in 2005. Caffé Vittoria sells cannolis, tiramisu, éclairs, and over ten flavors of gelato. They have an extensive drink menu including their signature martinis and specialty drinks. The café has a cigar lounge and hookah bar in the basement with a casual laid-back atmosphere. Cash only.

Cask 'n Flagon

Arguably the most famous sports bar in Boston, located right outside Fenway Park. Raise a glass with the Fenway faithful from around the world. This bar is always wicked packed on game days, if the Sox are losing it might be time to leave.

Bull & Finch Pub

After visiting this bar and chatting with bartender Eddie Doyle, Cheers producers decided to create a show based on this very pub. Trudge down the staircase of this iconic facade with the rest of the increasingly grey-haired crowd as you fondly remember when "everybody knows your name". Dated memorabilia lines the walls, and a can of something called "Norm's Nuts" is/are available for sale in the gift shop at this fantastically touristy location. Here only the exterior looks like TV, not the inside. If you want it the other way around head downtown to Faneuil Hall.

A cute divey hangout right off of Clarendon St. The drinks are fairly cheap, the atmosphere is cozy and kitschy, and the food is delicious. Cash only.

Dorchester Brewing Company

DBCo

DBco has house brews on a 20-line tap system with even more fresh craft beer from local brewing partners and regional collaborators. You have the option of a tasting flight, a full pour, or crowlers to go. They contract out some of their space to other local brewers, so there is always something different to try out. The tap room offers board and party games, food trucks, free Wi-Fi, an outdoor patio, and DBco merchandise to wear out the door. This is a great space for beer lovers to hang out, meet new people, drink beer, play games, and get some work down. Brewery tours are not yet available but should be in the near future.

Get in line to be served one of the most renowned cocktails in the city. You won't find a menu inside, so have a drink in mind to order. If it's not busy let the mixologist know your preferences and they will come up with a delightfully boozy idea on the spot. Try to get here before 9 to avoid the crowds.

This Dorchester-based company is a great place to get fresh coffees from around the world. Most of their coffees are certified Organic, Shade Grown and Fair Trade.

Flat Black Coffee Shop

A local coffee company with several other locations in downtown Boston. This one just happens to be the one that started it all. The owner and store managers roast their own coffee on site, producing micro batches of organic coffee. The shops regularly have local artists on the walls, with fresh pastries and bread for sale as well. Highly recommended for coffee and pastries.

The Good Life is a hidden gem, located in Boston's financial district. They offer an oft-changing menu of high quality food in their simple/chic dining room. Guests can also enjoy visiting their unique downstairs vodka lounge that features over 150 types! Various music acts featured nightly downstairs. No cover charge.
