It is called the "Eaved House" because of its unusually wide eaves supported by inclined pillars. The unique two storey "L" shaped house was built around a square inner yard; the downstairs from the Lusignan period, and upstairs from the Ottoman period.

The museum is housed in a 15th century Venetian building containing many stone works remaining from the Middle Ages, including coats of arms, marble works, sarcophagus, and columns. A unique, magnificent stone window now stands opposite the entrance gate.
