The central square is the hub of Trondheim. Surrounded by shops and cafés, it is often used for events. There are also vendors with market stalls that sell tourist kitch and souvenirs, food, clothes, accessories and other items. Not to mention Trondheim Torg, which is one of the city's largest shopping malls- home to clothing stores, bookstores, and restaurants and cafes. At the center stands an 18-metre-high statue of King Olav Tryggvason, the founder of the city. It is also a functioning sundial.
