Millennium Monument

The Millennium Monument is a conical structure at The Esplanade, George Town. Built in conjunction of the millennium celebrations in 2000.

Padang Kota Lama
It was planted by the British as the main cricket ground for the Penang Cricket Club, which moved to new premises in 1939 and was re-named the Penang Sports Club in 1947. The clubhouse, cricket pitch and cricket pavilion were destroyed during World War II and never rebuilt.

The Cenotaph War Memorial
The Cenotaph is a war memorial on Whitehall in London, England. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, it was unveiled in 1920 as the United Kingdom's national memorial to the dead of Britain and the British Empire of the First World War. It was rededicated in 1946 to include those of the Second World War, and has since come to represent the Commonwealth casualties from those and later conflicts.
