Juana Manuela Gorriti

Juana Manuela Gorriti Zuviria (15 June 1818 – 6 November 1892) was an Argentine writer with extensive political and literary links to Bolivia and Peru. She held the position of First Lady of Bolivia from 1848 to 1855. With the publication of La quena (1851), Gorriti became recognized as the earliest novelist in what would become Argentina.

Luis Federico Leloir
Luis Federico Leloir (6 September 1906 – 2 December 1987) was an Argentine physician and biochemist who received the 1970 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his discovery of the metabolic pathways by which carbohydrates are synthesized and converted into energy in the body. Although born in France, Leloir received the majority of his education at the University of Buenos Aires and was director of the private research group Fundación Instituto Campomar until his death in 1987. Horacio Anasagasti (July 16, 1879 – April 8, 1932) was an Argentinean engineer, manufacturer of the first Argentine car, the “Anasagasti”, that ran on the Tour de France (1912) and won the Madrid-Paris 1515 km Race in 1913.

Victoria Ocampo
Ramona Victoria Epifanía Rufina Ocampo (7 April 1890 – 27 January 1979) was an Argentine writer and intellectual. Best known as an advocate for others and as publisher of the literary magazine Sur, she was also a writer and critic in her own right and one of the most prominent South American women of her time. Her sister was Silvina Ocampo, also a writer.
