The Prelinger Library

A library collected over decades by Rick and Megan Prelinger, primarily a collection of 19th and 20th century historical ephemera, periodicals, maps, and books, most published in the United States. Their collections of zines, trade periodicals, and books relating to industrial and local topics is second to none, and the library contains many items that are unique in the world.

look for the intercom near the street entrance at 301 8th Street in San Francisco to find a button marked "Prelinger Library"; press the button to be buzzed in, and take the elevator to the second floor

Sun 1:30PM–4 PM; Tue 11 AM–5 PM; Wed, 12:30PM–7 PM; no appointment necessary
