El Mercado de Los Angeles
El Mercadito
An indoor shopping center in Boyle Heights that is meant to emulate a traditional Latin American marketplace, with lots of local vendors selling authentic Mexican food and wares, some of which are hard to find north of the border. The bottom two floors are full of stalls and eateries, while the third floor is a popular mariachi restaurant. Spanish is the norm here, so it helps to know even some simple phrases.
