Jeongnamjin Jangheung Shell Festival

정남진 장흥 키조개 축제

A local food festival using pen shells is held in Jangheung. Visitors can try dishes made with pen shells from the local clean waters.The festival program usually includes cultural performances such as guest singer stages, pungmul (traditional percussion) shows, sports dancing, and a singing contest for participants. A section for selling local products is also operated during the event. The festival is held together with the Jeamsan Royal Azalea Festival. The area around Jeilgangsan Mountain, where the event takes place, is designated as a tidal flat conservation zone and a fishery resource conservation zone.
