Várkör Street, Monument Houses

This sandstone statue was erected in 1739 as one of the local symbols of the cult of the Virgin Mary supported by the Counter-Reformation. Removed in 1912. Then altered and erected again in 1977.

Maria column

A monument building. Founded Jesuits in 1749, reconstructed in 1781. Since 1930 it was the Teachers’ Training College. Now it is empty.
