Prison Museum

Börtönmúzeum – A Magyar Büntetés-Végrehajtás Múzeumi Kiállítóhelye

It was built according to plans of Gyõzõ Czigler. The exhibition presents the overall historical and professional development of the penitentiary, the Hungarian penal systems and the situation of those serving their sentences. Visitors can learn about punitive, mutilation and death sentences, and the development and transformation of imprisonment. The exhibition also presents the current system, the life, education, employment and art of prisoners.
