Gwanchoksa

관촉사

This temple was founded by Hyemyeong in the 19th year of King Gwangjong's reign (968) during the Goryeo Dynasty. It serves as the affiliated temple of Magoksa Temple, the headquarters of the 6th parish of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The Standing Stone Mireuk-bosal Statue of Maitreya Buddha, which is over 18 meters tall and also dates from the Goryeo period, is the main attraction. It stands in the courtyard, along with other sculptures.
