Swan European Regatta

Sailing yachts of the Swan brand gather in Turku, having a regatta in the archipelago. The Swans, built by Ostrobothnian Nautor, combine a fibreglass hull with a luxurious interior, and were traditionally made to be comfortable, safe and fast. Several models have seen victories in famed races, such as the Cowes Week and Whitbread Round the World. Most new designs are targeted at the luxury cruising sector, but in Turku you'll see many of the old-timers, from the first Swan and some of her sisters from 1967–1970 to boats of the 1980s, in addition to a number of later designs. There are free public events at Forum Marinum. The races can be seen on a big screen there, from Kuuva on Ruissalo or by boat on Airisto. The regatta is held in Turku every few years.
