Once notorious for being rough, it has long since transformed into a safe, warm, and friendly neighborhood institution under the same family ownership as the Civic Pub in Braddon. It features several lively pool halls, a drive-through bottle shop, a comprehensive restaurant, and a unique 'cook-your-own' style open-grill steakhouse. On its upper levels, the pub still maintains bare-bones backpackers accommodation, though it is usually occupied by long-term tenants.
