The only significant green space in the City Centre is the heart of the vibrant Devonshire Quarter. Both are named after the Dukes of Devonshire, whose seat is at Chatsworth in the Peak District. It has an area of landscaped grass (thronged with young people in good weather) and semi-mature trees, a skatepark, and an outdoor arena used for festivals and events including Tramlines. Architecture buffs will appreciate the Gaudíesque curved walls and serpentine benches.
