Dolmens of Paldalsan Mountain

The Paldalsan Dolmen Cluster is located on the hillside of Paldalsan Mountain to the left of Suwon City Central Library, and consists of four dolmens distributed across two sites. Dolmen No. 1 and 2 are located at 3m intervals on the southern slope of Paldalsan Mountain at an elevation of 80m. Dolmen No. 3 and 4 are located at 3m intervals, 50m northwest at an elevation of 120m. Most of the dolmens have capstones exposed above ground, with some supporting stones visible beneath them, making it difficult to determine their exact structure. However, Dolmen No. 3 has a 1.63m long and 1m wide capstone that has been moved sideways and buried in the soil, exposing the burial chamber. However, some believe that the wall stones forming the burial chamber served as supporting stones. Most of the capstones were made of granite. Judging from the current state of preservation, it is likely a foundation-type dolmen, but further excavation is necessary to determine its exact structure.
