The military dictatorship of the 1970s and 80s had a much feared division in Cordoba dedicated to abducting, torturing and murdering citizens that they took a dislike to. Much of this activity took place in a small police building immediately behind the Cabildo. It is now a museum with photos of the disappeared and statements of the survivors and the families of the disappeared. It is an horrific place inducing anger and fear in equal measure.
