Aquincum Military Amphitheatre

Aquincumi katonai amfiteátrum

The military amphitheater located south of former Roman military camp. Around 145 the training ground, rebuilt in stone amphitheater during the reign of emperor Antoninus Pius. The construction work was performed by the Legio II Adiutrix technical corps. The longitudinal axis 131.8 m, cross axis 108.4 m of the outer walls of the stand. The arena size of 89.6 m×66.1 m. Molded walls of its cabinets were built by fishbone vaults. The walls were huge stone pillar supported.
