Otto Wagner Schützenhaus

Designed by Otto Wagner, and built in 1908, this was part of a planned redevelopment of the Donaukanal. After many years of neglect the building was fully restored in 2010, and now houses a restaurant.

You have not been to Vienna if you have not been to the Flex, particularly if you are younger than thirty. The meeting point of the off-mainstream, bohemian, artsy people. During the summer nights when it is warm, there are always a lot of people sitting on benches outside the club. It's easy to socialise and make new friends. Inside the club you can enjoy bands and DJs. At the bar you can ask for free soda water.

There are still some classic shops (including a horsemeat-butcher), but most of the stalls now house trendy restaurants and delicatessens. A fleamarket is here every Wednesday, and a farmers' market every Saturday.
