Karlsplatz Stadtbahn Pavilion

An original entrance building for the Wiener Stadtbahn railway station at Karlsplatz (now U-Bahn line U4), designed by Otto Wagner. It is a good example of functional turn of the century architecture – ornate, yet useful. Wagner was one of the most influential architects in Vienna and his style was widely copied. No longer used to access the station, the building now houses a small exhibition on Wagner and the Viennese urban improvements of the era.
