Oil Rocks

Neft Daşları began operations in 1949, thus becoming the first offshore oil platform in the world. Later, using the intentionally sunk ships as its foundation, an artificial archipelago has grown around it, interconnected by an extensive network of bridges and supporting a full-sized town inhabited by about 2,000 people. It's possible to visit the oil rock complex, but you should get a permit from the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan.
