Pasteur Institute
Bio Farma
Built in 1923 to a design by C.P.W. Schoemaker, for the Pasteur Institute of the Dutch East Indies, for research and production of vaccinations. The institute still exists (as a state-owned enterprise), but now under the name Bio Farma. The name of the Pasteur Institute remains as the namesake of the street, as well as the Pasteur toll gate.

A wide selection of pastries, but the most famous include its lapis cakes; the cheese sticks; keju bagelen; and the special pisang mollen, a round bread stuffed with banana that you can choose with or without choose. The main store is in Jalan H. Akbar near the main railway station, but there are several more branches throughout the city.
