Battersea Power Station

One of the great icons of the old smog-filled London of the mid-20th century and regarded as a fine example of industrial design of the Art Deco era. This coal-fired power station generated its last electricity in 1983 and sat empty for many years before being redeveloped with flats, shops, and offices in the 2010s. In many ways best viewed from a distance on the north side of the Thames at Chelsea.
