楼观台

It is a Daoist temple complex. This is supposedly the place where Laozi preached and composed the classic Taoism book, Dao De Jing. Upon entering, some drivers may offer you a ride to the main temple at the back of the complex for ¥10.

Getting there

60 km southwest of Xi'an. You can take 'Huan Shan Tour Bus No. 1' from the 'Big Wild Goose Pagoda North Square' bus stop (the boarding place is not exactly on the bus stop but a few meters before) from 08:00-11:00. The journey will take about two hours by bus, ¥12 per person. To go back, take the bus from across the street where you alighted. There is no proper bus stop, only a bus stand. Arrival time is about 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 17:00.
