The experience at M. T. Pockets has definitely suffered since Steve's Clam Bar decamped for the EXPO Market across the street, but still they soldier on, serving cheap drinks in a delightfully scruffy setting to a crowd that skews slightly older than other spots on the strip. Highlights include a chilled-out, almost intimate atmosphere and drinks that are well-prepared and stronger than your average; lowlights include the service, which can be gruff bordering on hostile, and watch out if you're ordering off the food menu, as the kitchen staff isn't always what you'd call "on the ball".

Buffalo's first cat café offers visits with a rotating cast of about ten friendly, furry, adoptable kitties (advance reservations are recommended, but walk-ins are accommodated when possible). But if you just want to kick back with a yummy smoothie, specialty coffee or tea, or some pastry — or if you're an art lover in the mood to peruse some feline-themed work by local artists — you're welcome to just hang out in the café area, for no charge other than that of your food or drink. Kids under 7 are welcome at Children's Storybook Hour (check website for event calendar) but not allowed at other times.
