Timeline
09:00
Start with a coffee and a croissant at the Rathauscafé. The terrace is pleasant in good weather, and the service is friendly. This is the quietest time to visit before the lunch crowds arrive.
09:30
Walk up to Lindenhof. This hill in the heart of the old town offers a beautiful view of the city and marks the site of a former Roman fort. It is a peaceful spot to take in the surroundings.
10:00
Head back down to the old town for lunch at Zunfthaus Zur Waag. Order the meal to be served in two parts so it arrives hot. The atmosphere is authentic and the Swiss high-end fare is worth the wait.
11:00
End your morning with a walk to the Arboretum. Located along the Quaianlagen lakefront, this botanical garden and park offers a serene environment near the water. You can also see the nearby lido.
Local tip
The Arboretum is part of the Quaianlagen, a series of lakefronts. If you enjoy walking, the path along the water connects well to other green spaces.
